Sheriff identifies man killed in Le Mars, IA accident

LE MARS, Iowa (KTIV) – The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office said 76-year-old Douglas Clay died after hitting a tree with his vehicle in Le Mars, Iowa.

On Wednesday, the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department was called to LeLand Drive for an unresponsive man whose vehicle hit a tree.

Clay was taken to Floyd Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Officials say based on an initial investigation, Clay suffered a medical condition prior to striking the tree which caused his death.
