Bandits, Stampede beat Kansas City foes

Saturday was another good day on the gridiron in Siouxland. The Bandits and Stampede both notched victories over Kansas City teams.

The Bandits made a statement with a 77-26 win over the Kansas City Phantoms. New Sioux City running back Daryl Virgies scored four touchdowns in his team debut, while Darrian Miller added three rushing touchdowns.

The Bandits (5-3) out-rushed Kansas City 163 yards, to 20. Sioux City is back in action next Saturday, traveling to Omaha for a 7:05 P.M. kickoff.

The Stampede edged the Kansas City Bulldogs, 29-28, to move to 2-0 on the season.

Sioux City got a 29-12 lead, before giving up 16 unanswered points. But the Herd held off a late Kansas City drive to secure the win.

The Stampede are at home again next week, hosting the Fargo Invaders at 4:00 P.M.
