Thompson-Williams, Tomscha, Tillo playing well in minors

Three former Sioux City high school standouts are playing well in the minors.

East grad Dom Thompson-Williams hit two homers Sunday to lead the Charleston RiverDogs to a win. It was the first multi-homer game in his pro career. Thompson-Williams had four hits to raise his average to .357. Charleston is a Class A affiliate of the Yankees.

North grad Damek Tomscha is hitting .311 for the Phillies Double-A team in Reading, Pennsylvania.The 26-year-old Tomscha has five homers and 17 RBI’s as the Fightin’ Phils starting third baseman.

North grad Daniel Tillo is 1-1, with a 3.72 ERA for the Lexington Legends, a Class A affiliate of the Royals. The lefty has started six games on the mound, with 27 strikeouts in 36 innings of work. Tillo is rated as the 19th best prospect in the Royals farm system.
