Hot stretch in Siouxland continues

The sunshine, heat, and humidity prevail as we step in into our Tuesday across Siouxland as high pressure continues to hold strong to our south. Temps once again blast up into the low to mid 90s by later this afternoon with feels like temps near 100°. Even more sunshine is on the way for our Wednesday but the breeze will begin to increase out ahead of our next system. This will pump in even more warmth and mugginess with highs for many of us into the mid and upper 90s. By Thursday, our thunderstorm chances are increasing as this cold front begins to move our way. A couple of those storms could turn a bit strong to severe with gusty winds and hail being the primary concerns.

A better chance of storms arrives overnight and look to linger into our Friday. Highs will be much cooler, falling back into the lower and middle 80s. The weekend brings our next front and this could spark up and isolated thunderstorm on Saturday. As it looks now, a big cool down is on the other side of this cold front with temps tumbling back toward 80° for the start of next week under partly cloudy conditions. A rogue thundershower cannot be ruled out though as this boundary continues to push through the region.
