In need of dental care but can’t afford it?
A two-day clinic in Sioux City is coming to help.
The Iowa Mission of Mercy, or Iowa-MOM, is a two-day dental clinic where dental professionals donate their time to provide free oral health care.
This year, it will be held October 5th and 6th at the Tyson Events Center.
The service is open for anyone who seeks care- regardless of where they live, how much money they make, or whether they have insurance.
The full-service dental clinic with 100 dental operatories will be set up, and patients are treated on a first come, first served basis.
"We continue to sign up dental professionals for the clinic," said Dr. Ammon Anderson, Dentist, Sioux City Endodontics. "But we also need volunteers from the community to help us to run, and to keep this line moving."
"It demonstrates what I have known to be true about Sioux City and this community- and that is, we do in fact care about each other," said Mayor Pro Tem, Dan Moore.
The first Iowa MOM was in 2008.
