Prime-time television director returns to his Siouxland roots

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – John Behring made his return to Siouxland to take part in workshops for the Sioux City International Film Festival.

Behring has worked on over 120 hour-long prime-time television episodes for shows like  “Charmed”, “CSI”, and “Gotham.”

And he said his Siouxland roots are what has served him so well in the television industry.

“I think that my roots here have been are a major part of why I have been able to succeed in LA, and in New York, and really I have shot all over Vancouver, Atlanta, and New Orleans, and I think that it’s just being a kid from the Midwest,” said  Behring.

Behring hosted two workshops Thursday afternoon: “The Art and Craft of Directing with John Behring”, and “The Nuts and Bolts of Independent Filmmaking”.

A list of all available workshops and events can be found on the Sioux City International Film Festival website.
