Washta, Kingsley, Pierson to see 911 service outages

(KTIV) – Three cities in Northwest, Iowa, will a see temporary outage in their 911 service beginning Thursday night.

Frontier Communications customers in Washta, Kingsley, and Pierson will be impacted from 11 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday as Frontier will undergo a fiber cutover.

The outage will limit outgoing calls for Frontier Communications customers, including long distance and emergency 911 calls.

In case of an emergency during this time, use a cell phone to call 911.

For anyone without a cell phone that needs to call 911, contact a neighbor who does.

During the outage any non-local and 911 calls will ring busy from a landline using Frontier services.
