Northwestern College adds finishing touches to new science center

ORANGE CITY, Iowa (KTIV) – Northwestern College tomorrow will invite the public to see its latest addition to campus.

The 24-point-five million dollar DeWitt Family Science Center will be dedicated at 4:00 p.m., as part of Northwestern’s Homecoming festivities.

The new building still needs a few finishing touches before it’s done. But the staff and community are excited to unveil the state of the art facility, which will soon house Biology, Chemistry and Nursing departments, and others.

“So if we’re going to give students a state of the art education so that they can go on and go to graduate school, go to medical school, and make a difference in the world. Then we need to provide state of the art education. And I think it pays off in the end.” said Sara Tolsma, Professor of Biology at Northwestern College

The goal is to begin conducting some classes in the new building on Oct. 17, following the mid-term break.

The public and alumni are invited to join tomorrow’s dedication. Tours will follow.
