SIOUX RAPIDS, Iowa (KTIV) – Multiple fire departments were called to the scene of a fire in downtown Sioux Rapids, Wednesday.

The Buena Vista County Sheriff says the owner of the Wagon Wheel Restaurant and Lounge noticed the fire around 3:30 p.m. At that time, the restaurant was consumed by smoke.

Investigators say the fire likely originated in the Wagon Wheel’s kitchen, which is a total loss. The rest of the building sustained significant smoke damage.

No one was hurt.

The Sioux Rapids Fire Department, Webb Fire Department, and Storm Lake Fire Department responded to the scene.
