(KTIV) – A total of five Red Cross volunteers have been deployed in the wake of Hurricane Michael.

Those volunteers are helping hurricane victims in Florida, Georgia and Alabama.

That includes Sioux City Red Cross Chapter volunteer Allen Van Beek.

He’s helping out in Tallahassee, Florida.

More Iowa volunteers are expected to leave for the Florida gulf coast in the coming days.

They join more than 800 trained disaster workers from across the country to provide shelter, food, health services and emotional support to those in the affected areas.
