SIOUX CITY (KTIV) —  It is an exciting, but somber day at KTIV News 4.

Our Regional Vice President, Jerry Watson, is retiring after 14 years with the station.

“I, Ardell F. Brede, Mayor of the city of Rochester, do declare today, December 14, 2018, as Jerry Watson Day.”

Jerry also is the general manager of our sister station, KTTC-TV, in Rochester, Minnesota.

On Friday, December 14, current, and former staff members, friends, and family gathered to celebrate Jerry.

He started his more than 40-year career in Nebraska, working in radio. The switch to television news came in 1980, at an Omaha, Nebraska, station.

He moved to Rochester, Minnesota, in 1990, and took over as KTIV’s Regional Vice President in 2004.

Jerry, thank you for your leadership. We wish you all the best in your retirement!
