Leslie London joined KTIV in December of 2018 as the weekend meteorologist and a multimedia journalist.
Leslie grew up in the Sierra Nevada mountains of Northern California, in a small town called Truckee, which is near Lake Tahoe. When most people hear she is from California, they tend to assume she must have lived on a beach. But Truckee averages about 194 inches of snow per year (Sioux City averages 33 inches). So winter weather is nothing new to her.
After high school, Leslie spent a lot of time moving to different places and transferring colleges. Some places she has lived in include New York City, Los Angeles, Alaska, and Reno. She tends to enjoy big cities the most but has a special place in her heart for small towns since that’s what she grew up in.
Leslie attended the University of Nevada Reno, where she graduated with a degree in Atmospheric Science and a Mathematics minor. She won the Westfall Scholar award for Physics when she graduated, meaning she had the highest GPA out of all the graduating physics majors. After graduating from UNR in 2018, she spent the summer as a meteorologist intern at KRNV in Reno, Nevada.
