SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) — Dominic Vidoli scored twice, including the game-winner in overtime, and the Musketeers beat Omaha in overtime on Monday, 4-3.
After a scoreless first period, the Musketeers finally got on the board with a goal from Viljami Nieminen. Sioux City led 1-0 after two period.
The third period was busy. Vidoli scored his first goal to put the Muskies up 2-0.
Omaha countered with a Jack Hillman goal nearly nine minutes into the third, but Jordan Steinmetz lit the lamp just 1:02 later for a 3-1 Sioux City lead.
But the Lancers scored on a penalty shot, and Kyle Kawamura scored with just over a minute to play in regulation, forcing overtime.
Vidoli’s game-winner came just 1:07 into the overtime period, as Sioux City moved to 16-7-3.
The Musketeers return to action Friday and Saturday, with a weekend trip to Youngstown.
