(KTIV) – Before you know it, tax season will be upon us. And one Siouxland group is looking to help…for free.
Center for Siouxland offers Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, or VITA.
The volunteers are IRS certified and prepare taxes free for people in the community.
In order to qualify for VITA, a person or family has to have a household income of $56,000 or less. VITA would also not be able to do farm income.
When setting up an appointment, you will need to bring a photo ID, your Social Security card, your income documents, W2, and bank information.
Appointment calls can be made January 28, with the first Saturday appointment for walk-ins is on February 2.
For more information or to step up an appointment, call (712) 252-1861 Ext. 11 or visit centerforsiouxland.org.
