LINCOLN, Neb,. (KTIV/NTV) –
Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts may be in his final term in office, but during Thursday’s inaugural address, he promised Nebraskans that he’ll remain focused on growing Nebraska.
In his speech, Ricketts laid out his “four pillars” to grow Nebraska. The governor hopes to connect Nebraskans to great paying jobs by ensuring they have the skills they need. Ricketts wants to make sure the state is cutting regulatory red tape for job creators. The governor also wants to ensure lawmakers are being good stewards of taxpayer dollars. Finally, Ricketts wants to promote the state. “We’re going to have to work hard and work together,” said Gov. Pete Ricketts, (R) Nebraska. “We’re going to have to roll up our sleeves, use a little bit of Nebraska grit. But I’m confident, working together, we can address the priorities of Nebraskans in the next weeks, months, and years.”
Ricketts will return to the Unicameral, next week, to present lawmakers with his budget.
