SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – If you’ve ever dreamed of having a small business in town, the Sioux City Growth Organization is giving you a chance to make your dreams come true.

For nine years, the Innovation Market competition is organized for local entrepreneurs.

Folks of all ages are encouraged to compete to grow their ideas.

The competition, known as the “Innovation Market”, allows people the chance to bring their ideas to life, while making connections.

The top five ideas are chosen.

First, second and third place winners receive cash prizes.

Local businesses also will donate startup-focused prizes.

Members of the Sioux City Growth Organization say the competition helps open doors for new businesses.

“If it’s a new found idea, it will take roughly six months to a year to get it fully going and to have a storefront. But if you’re farther along in the process and you already have a business plan and you have the financing and you just kind of need that extra push. We could do anywhere from three-six months,” says Kalynn Sortino, the President of the Sioux City Growth Organization.

The submission deadline is midnight, Sunday, February 17.
