**Winter Weather Advisory for Shelby County until noon Saturday**
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Many parts of the Midwest are keeping an eye on a large storm system moving through the region from now into Saturday.
Siouxland is on the north side of this storm, though, meaning any impacts for us will stay quite minor.
We already saw a lot of clouds today from that system although highs were above average in the 30s.
Tonight is when southern Siouxland will start to see a combination of freezing drizzle and light snow.
Some moisture could also get into central and northern Siouxland but for places like Sioux City we’ll just be looking at very light freezing drizzle or flurries and it will even be rather patchy.
The precipitation could be heaving enough in southern Siouxland to see some accumulations up to an inch in places like Denison and Carroll.
Some of this light mix could continue on Saturday although the system will be moving out by Saturday night.
Peeks of sunshine will return on Sunday with highs in the mid 30s.
We’ll warm up a little bit very early next week meaning highs could be around 40 on both Monday and Tuesday with nice amounts of sunshine.
A few more clouds will return by Wednesday and Thursday as we cool down a bit.
Highs on Wednesday will be around 30 with low 30s expected on Thursday.
Friday could give us a chance of a little snow moving in.
