SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -This weekend a new coffee shop that features local artists is brewing up a storm during their grand opening.
On Friday, Hardline Coffee Company opened its doors to Siouxlanders.
The new cafe officially introduced itself in March of 2018.
Over this past summer, they served Siouxland at the Sioux City Farmer’s Market, with a mobile unit.
In late September, they secured the location at 611 5th St in Sioux City.
On Saturday, the coffee shop hosted a grand opening party with live entertainment and a full drink menu.
The new cafe says that they offer lots of coffee products and will expand their menu to have other drink items.
Vegan and vegetarian food options are also expected on the menu.
“I think there is absolutely a need for this in Siouxland. I myself am a vegetarian and I can say that it is a little bit tough to get out and find a good meal sometimes. I really want to emphasize that in a community and give people as many options as I can,” says, Nisa Salmen, Owner, and Founder of Hardline Coffee Co.
Decorating the walls of the new coffee shop are portraits by local artists.
On Saturday, we spoke with one artist about her work displayed for coffee lovers around Siouxland.
“To be able to showcase my work in a new local shop is amazing to me I’m so grateful for the opportunity,” says Anna Hart, a local artist.
On Sunday, Hardline Coffee Company will host a Latte Art Throwdown.
Doors open at three o’clock and first pour is at four.
Hardline Coffee, located at 611 5th Street, is open from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, and 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday.
