SIOUX CITY (KTIV) — The top-seeded Northwestern College women moved into the quarterfinals at the NAIA Division II tournament with an 83-70 win over Indiana Wesleyan on Friday.

Kassidy De Jong had 20 points for the Red Raiders and Sammy Blum put in 17. The Red Raiders (28-4) will play either Hastings or College of the Ozarks on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. at the Tyson Events Center.

SIOUX FALLS, SD — The top-seeded Morningside men got a challenge in round two on Friday but advanced past fourth-seeded Mt. Vernon Nazarene of Ohio, 75-69, at the NAIA Division II national tournament.

Morningside trailed by one at halftime, 40-39 and didn’t take the lead for good until there were less than three minutes left. Tyler Borcher led the Mustangs with 26 points.

The Mustangs (29-3) will play in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. against second-seeded College of Idaho.

The fifth-seeded Briar Cliff men had the final game of the day on Friday against the top seed in their bracket, West Virginia Tech.

Briar Cliff led 43-32 at the half and advance, 99-72. The Chargers play at 8:00 p.m. Saturday in the quarterfinals against third-seeded Marian of Indiana.
