NORFOLK, Nebraska (KTIV) – Jury selection for the trial of Derek Olson has been postponed until Tuesday.
Olson is charged in the 2017 murder of 64-year-old Bancroft, Nebraska, resident Ernest Warnock.
Olson has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including second-degree murder.
His father, Jody Olson, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in December as part of plea agreement.
His sentencing is set for April 4.
Warnock’s body was found inside his burned-out home.
Authorities say Warnock had been stabbed to death before his house was set on fire.
Two other people were sentenced as accessories to the killing.
Becky Weitzenkamp was sentenced to 18-20 years Jenna Merrill was sentenced to two years.
