NORFOLK, Nebraska (KTIV) – Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts and Speaker of the Unicameral Jim Scheer, who represents Norfolk, visited northeast Nebraska to survey flood damage on Friday.
Both men updated residents at the Norfolk Airport.
Ricketts compared this event to the flooding of 2011.
He said while this flooding is less severe, its the largest widespread flood in the state over the last half-century.
On Tuesday, Ricketts issued an emergency declaration for the state in preparation of the storms.
