Officials: Hornick not safe for individuals

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Woodbury County officials say the town of Hornick remains unsafe as flooding continues.

Shortly after noon Friday, Woodbury County Sheriff Dave Drew said three was approximately three feet of water on Main Street in Hornick.

Rebecca Socknat of the Woodbury County Emergency Management said Friday morning the river near Hornick should have crested a long time ago, however snow and ice conditions are making things unpredictables.

Officials town hall meeting for impacted residents will be held at 4 p.m. at the Sloan Fire Hall.

Power in the town has been off since last night.

Officials also say L36 near Correctionville was closed last night.
