SIOUX CITY (KTIV) On Sunday, locals gathered for a multicultural fair, celebrating diversity in Siouxland.
On Sunday afternoon, the Sioux City Convention Center hosted “Faces of Siouxland Multicultural Fair”.
For 28 years the multicultural fair has featured a multitude of cultures that exist in Sioux City.
Over 80 vendors took part in the fair, with food, clothing, and crafts for sale.
The free event is said to bring in 3,000 people each year for this one-day event.
City officials say this event allows for locals to community members to celebrate one another.
“It’s a good way to network. It’s a good way to get to know people. Often times it’s said If you don’t get to know people if you don’t get to know each other, what your cultures are, what your beliefs are then we are going to lose out,” says Dan Moore, a Sioux City City Council Member.
The multicultural fair went on from noon to four on Sunday afternoon.
