SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – If you are someone who is an avid reader you may want to check out some of the events One Book One Siouxland will feature this year.
On Sunday, the community-wide reading initiative hosted a Marathon Read-Aloud at Morningside College.
Locals were invited to the informal event to read a stage version of the American Classic “The Grapes of Wrath”.
This story tells the tale of migrant workers during the time of the great depression.
Folks were given the opportunity to volunteer to read or just listen.
Two dollars was donated to the Foodbank of Siouxland for every attendee.
Organizers say this event helped to give back to Siouxland and promote reading
