DAKOTA DUNES, South Dakota (KTIV) — The Boy Scouts of America kicked off their 2019 food drive with a big donation from Tyson Foods.
Tyson announced on Tuesday that they’re donating 30,000 pounds of protein to benefit the Food Bank of Siouxland.
This is in conjunction with the Boy Scouts annual “Scouting for Food.”
Each year Tyson Foods, Boy Scouts of American and Hy-Vee team up to help take a bite out of hunger.
Organizers say the partnership makes a huge difference.
“We are richly blessed by the food drive, the work the boys are doing, with our partnership with Tyson,” said Food Bank of Siouxland Executive Director Linda Scheid, “All-in-all that partnership is making an incredible difference.”
“Scouting for Food” will take place this Saturday, April 13th area Hy-Vees.
Scouts will be there for shoppers to buy items and collect donations.
If you received a door hanger from the scouts last weekend, they’ll be around to collect items from those homes as well.
