SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Nebraska (KTIV) – Friday night, the Sioux City Public School Foundation hosted its annual “Are You Smarter Than Our 4th Graders?” fundraising event.
The event intended to help the foundation support the Sioux City Community School District with programs that can’t be achieved through limited state funding.
Contestants are asked a question– from the 1st grade level to the 4th grade level– and they have the option to answer it with the help of some of the district’s 4th graders.
But the focus was on the kids, and not the adult contestants.
“Tonight really focuses on the smarts of our kids and this is just a really excellent way for us to showcase the things that they’re learning in the classroom and the innovation in our classroom, and just see some cute kids,” says Catelin Drey, Marketing Outreach Coordinator of SCPSF
KTIV’s own Stella Daskalakis was one of the six contestants competing.
