Musketeers drop one goal decision in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota (KTIV) — The Sioux City Musketeers lost to Sioux Falls on Friday night, 2-1. With the loss Sioux City falls to 34-23-7 on the season with one game left in the regular season.

The Musketeers have already locked down the sixth and final spot in the USHL playoffs. Sioux Falls remains tied with Waterloo for the second seed with one game remaining after the Blackhawks also won 2-1. The number-two seed will get a first round bye in the postseason.

Sioux Falls scored twice in the first period on goals from Cade Borchardt and Sam Stevens. Sioux City’s only goal came early in the second period by Marcus Kallionkieli. The Musketeers managed just 18 shots, compared to 27 for the Stampede.

Sioux City will close the regular season at Tri-City on Saturday at 7:05.
