SPENCER, IA (KTIV) – each year the Spencer Chamber hosts four sessions with representatives from the state to discuss concerns.
On Saturday, locals filled the Spencer City Hall.
This last Eggs and Issues Legislative Forum was one of four sessions that take place each year.
Officials such as Representative Steve King, Secretary of ag Mike Naig and Senator Joni Ernst attended the forum.
Among some of the important local topics discussed was Congress’ current status to provide flood relief funds
Senator Joni Ernst says a resolution is in the works.
“I sat down with the President on Thursday to talk through a plan. We will continue with our friends across the aisle and see if we can come up with a package that will get through Congress and be signed by the president,” says Senator Joni Ernst, (R) Iowa.
Ernst’s says this new package would help all the disaster areas that occurred in 2018 along with the recent flood events this spring.
