UPDATE:

SERGEANT BLUFF, Iowa (KTIV) – Authorities are searching for the driver of a vehicle that caused multiple accidents during a high-speed pursuit that ended in Sergeant Bluff on Friday night.

Sgt. Kyle Haack of the Iowa State Patrol said shortly after 5 p.m. Friday, the Woodbury County Sheriff’s office received a report of a reckless driver heading westbound on Highway 20 in Moville.

Haack said a Moville officer was able to locate the vehicle and attempted to pull it over.

Haack said when the officer was unable to do so is the pursuit began.

He said the pursuit clocked in at 100 miles per hour before reaching Sergeant Bluff, with the vehicle heading southbound on Old Highway 75.

Haack said the vehicle was attempting to turn right to go west on First Street when the trooper forced the vehicle into a ditch. Haack said the male driver was able to flee however his passenger was detained.

The same chase is thought to have caused an accident on Stone Avenue and Gordon Drive in Sioux City.

No civilians were hurt in either accident. Haack said Iowa State Troopers involved in the accidents received some minor bumps and bruises.

He said a preliminary investigation is underway, and he believes a search warrant will be filed for the vehicle.

Sources are telling KTIV this is the end of a high-speed chase that began near Moville, Iowa, on Highway 20.

The same chase is thought to have caused an accident on Stone Avenue and Gordon Drive in Sioux City.

An Iowa State Trooper unit was damaged in that crash.
