SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – The 28th annual “Sioux City History Projects” exhibit reception and awards ceremony was held today at the Sioux City Public Museum.
Over 1,000 4th grade students created projects of key historical sites as part of their local history curriculm such as the Warrior Hotel, Stone Park Zoo, and many more.
Museum staff visited each of the 13 participating schools and hand-picked 85 of the projects according to their uniqueness, quality, and relevance to Sioux City History.
The 85 students that had their project selected was presented with a blue ribbon and special awards such as the “Student Choice Award” which was voted on by 4th-grade students during school tours.
The Sioux City Public Museum staff has worked with area schools to help develop their local history curriculum and provide museum tours for over 30 years.
