DES MOINES, Iowa (KTIV) – Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds has signed a bill into law making sports betting legal in Iowa.

The bill authorizes the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission to establish rules on betting professional, collegiate and international sporting events, including motor racing.

It excludes betting on some events, including minor leagues and in-state college teams.

In late April, Iowa lawmakers approved the bill 67-31 before it headed to Reynolds’ office for a signature.
