OKLAHOMA CITY (KTIV) – The Morningside women’s golf team is in Oklahoma City, where they’ll play in the NAIA championships starting Tuesday. The Mustangs won the GPAC title to earn a spot at nationals.

Morningside is ranked 21st in the country after winning five straight tournaments. Their top two players are from Spain and Mexico but any of the top five players are capable of putting up a low number.

“We don’t like to put numbers on our girls,” said sophomore Samantha Knight. “The top five are all our number one players and it just depends on the day who’s going to go out there and shoot their low round. We’re all very supportive of the one that does shoot the low round and very appreciative of all our girls.”

“We’re hoping to do our best,” said freshman Laia Badosa. “For now we’re looking forward to passing the cut and then see what’s going.”

The Mustangs tee off at 12:30 on Tuesday afternoon.
