Sioux City man sentenced for robbing Moville, IA bank

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – A Sioux City man will spend over eight years behind bars for robbing a Moville, Iowa, bank last year.

Brendon Reed was sentenced Tuesday morning in U.S. District Court in Sioux City, after pleading guilty to one count of bank robbery in December of last year.

Reed was sentenced to 105 months in prison for robbing the United Bank of Iowa in Moville on March 30, 2018.

Reed’s sentence will run concurrently to his 10-year sentence for first-degree theft of a car he stole used in the robbery. He flipped during a police pursuit near Salix, Iowa, following the robbery that day.

Reed’s could have faced a maximum of 20-years in prison for the robbery.
