Ground search resumes for missing South Dakota girl

PENNINGTON COUNTY, South Dakota (KTIV) – Over three months after her disappearance, the search continues for a missing 9-year-old South Dakota girl.

On Wednesday, the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, Pennington County Search and Rescue, and the Rapid City Police Department were joined by seven other South Dakota agencies as part of a ground search for Serenity Dennard. Wednesday’s search covers a two and a half mile radius of the Children’s Home Society.

Serenity was last seen at 11:20 a.m. February 3 as she walked away from the Black Hills Children’s Home in Pennington County, South Dakota.

Serenity is 4-feet, 7-inches tall, weighs 96 pounds, has blue eyes and shoulder-length dark blond hair.

She was last seen wearing a long-sleeved gray t-shirt with flowers, a purple tank top, dark stonewashed jeans, and black boots.
