LAKES AREA NEWS: Arnolds Park Amusement Park opening this weekend

(KUOO) – The Arnolds Park Amusement Park opens for the season this weekend.

The park will be open both Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. weather-permitting.

The Queen Two will also hold its maiden voyages of the season at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. both days, again, weather-permitting.

Marketing Director Paul Plumb says Arnolds Park will also feature some new attractions this year.

“We have a couple of new rides, the Wild Mouse will not quite be ready yet,” said Plumb. “We’re looking to hopefully open it in June. We’re excited about that new ride. It will be probably shortly after Memorial Day sometime that we’ll have that ride open. We have a brand new train that just got delivered today went around the track a few times and just looks really, really sharp. Brand new motor in that, brand new paint job, re-worked basically everything in that train from the motor to the cars to the wheels, everything about it. We went retro with it and it looks a lot like the train that was around here in the ’70’s actually.”

Season passes will also be available for purchase this weekend.

Arnolds Park will open daily for the season beginning Memorial Day weekend.
