OMAHA, Nebraska (WOWT)- Drivers heading down to Omaha on I-29 will now have a much easier and quicker commute from here on out.
A section of I-29, from Crescent North to Missouri Valley, now reopens after being closed for months after damaging floods.
Interstate 29 closed north from Omaha after March’s flooding after floodwaters flowed over the road and damaged the structure of the concrete and left debris behind.
“Thank the Lord that it’s open. Yeah. A half hour versus an hour drive, it’s just nice. Yeah, it was a pretty big inconvenience. It’s definitely a lot quicker now,” said Marrick Loftus, Magnolia, IA.
After the flood – people in Missouri Valley say they had to take Highway 30 across the state border through Blair to get to and from Omaha.
