BROOKINGS, South Dakota (KTIV) — Former Winnebago High School star David Wingett is transferring closer to home. He’ll continue his college career at South Dakota State after one season at Memphis. Wingett played in four games for the Tigers last season, recording two points.

He led Winnebago to the school’s second state championship in 2015, averaging nearly 21 points per game, finished his career as the fifth-leading scorer in Nebraska prep history with more than 2,300 points.

He’ll sit out next season due to transfer rules and have three seasons left of eligibility.
