O’Brien County Auditor & Commissioner of Elections Releases Special Election Results

SHELDON, Iowa (KTIV) —  The unofficial results of Sheldon, Iowa’s Special Election on Tuesday, May 21, have been reported.

Greg Geels and Fred Grein were running for the Office of Mayor.

Barbara Rohwer, O’Brien County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections said Geels received 608 votes, while Grein had 278 votes.

Wayne Barahona, Wayne Burnette, Rick Nordahl and Kerwin Sterler were running for the vacant seat on the Sheldon City Council.

According to the Commissioner of Elections, Barahona had 458 votes. Sterler came in second with 212 votes. Nordahl received 192 votes and Burnette came in with 43 votes.
