(KTIV)- It’s an unique opportunity for Siouxlanders to travel and experience the rich culture and business climate of China.
The Siouxland Chamber of Commerce is teaming up with Citslinc International, Inc. to provide a 9-day tour this November.
From November 11 to November 19, Chamber members and non-members are traveling to China for a unique experience.
It is meant to be an introduction to the people, history, culture, business, and daily life of the country.
“Well for one, it’s a huge trading partner with the United States obviously and a world power,” said Barbara Sloniker, Executive Vice President of the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce. “But also, we have a friend in China already with Ambassador Branstad, former Governor Branstad, that we hope to meet with while we’re in China.”
The unique trip also opens doors for business opportunities.
“I think the most important thing is that ability to see how business is done in another country, to get more of a worldwide vision,” adds Sloniker.
One day of the 9-day tour is dedicated to participating in a Chinese/American business networking conference.
“Ahead of time our attendees are able to say, “Hey we’re interested in learning more about this industry in China, or how our business here could be involved with, or have a new customer in China.” And then from the Chinese side, they will bring in officials and other chamber people that know more about those types of businesses. So it’s a networking, start your first contact, type of thing.”
And the trip is not just for members of The Siouxland Chamber of Commerce.
Everyone is welcome to come along.
“It’s kind of nice to have people with you that you know, so you can kind of build it out” adds Sloniker. “It’s not just for business, it’s not just for pleasure, there’s an opportunity to mix both or have one or the other if that’s what you prefer.”
The registration deadline for the trip is July 15.
