After a couple of cool and blustery days, it was nice to get the sunshine back overhead.
Unfortunately, it was a brief break as showers have returned as we have moved into the afternoon hours.
Expect showers to continue as we head through the evening and into the overnight hours with thunder possible as well.
Amounts for much of the area look to end up between a quarter and half an inch by the time the rains wrap up Friday morning.
The exception will be southeastern Siouxland who may see amounts top three-quarters of an inch.
We will gradually clear our skies Friday afternoon and that sunshine will help push us into the upper 70s for highs.
Saturday and Sunday are both looking pretty nice with highs again in the upper 70s though we do have a small chance for an afternoon thunderstorm Saturday.
Better chances arrive Sunday night into Monday and Memorial Day may see some of those storms get strong.
