FEMA teams up with Lowe’s in Sioux City to provide home improvement tips

Sioux City (KTIV) —  As Iowans repair the damage to their homes caused by March storms and flooding, the Federal Emergency Management Agency is giving rebuilding tips on making houses and businesses stronger and safer.

FEMA is teaming up with Lowe’s in Sioux City to offer free home improvement tips and proven methods to prevent and reduce damage from future disasters.

FEMA mitigation specialists will be at an information center, inside the Lowe’s on Sunnybrook Drive starting Monday, June 3. They will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., until Saturday, June 8th.

The information offered is geared for do-it-yourself work and general contractors.

Mitigation teams also will be handing out free reference booklets on protecting your home from future flood damage.
