Miracle Riders of UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s help with renovations

Sioux City (KTIV) —  The Miracle Riders of UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Children’s Miracle Network have been hard at work.

From 7:30 a.m. until around Noon on Saturday, June 1, they helped with renovations at the hospital’s Pediatric Rehab unit in Sioux City. Sanding and painting were just some of the tasks on the to-do list.

They were sprucing up a waiting room and making space for new equipment that will go in the unit. The Miracle Riders raised money for the project in 2018 so they say they were excited to get going on the work.

“They help to enhance the lives of sick children and get them home and healthy quick. That’s something that we all have personal stories with and feelings for. That means a lot. We love riding for the kids,” said Matt Thompson, Siouxland Miracle Rider.

The 2019 Ride will happen from August 19 until August 30 and will celebrate UnityPoint Health’s 30th year as a CMN Hospital. This year’s Miracle Riders journey will cover 30 states in 12 days.
