UPDATE: Power restored to most customers following outage in the Sioux City area

UPDATE: As of 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, only 18 MidAmerican Energy customers are without power.



Sioux City (KTIV) —  MidAmerican Energy tells KTIV News 4 approximately nearly 800 MidAmerican Energy customers are without power in Sioux City and North Sioux City. Geoff Greenwood of MidAmerican Energy says the power went out at 8:35 p.m. Initially, more than 1,500 customers were in the dark.

Crews are out searching for the cause of that outage. The company hopes to restore power to customers as soon as possible.

Outages were traced to several locations including: the 1700 block of Waters Road in North Sioux City, the 900 block of Council Oak Drive in Sioux City’s Riverside neighborhood, the 5000 block of Talbot Road near Stone State Park, and Military Road south of Devils Food Drive in North Sioux City.
