STORM LAKE, Iowa (KTIV) – One person has been arrested after Storm Lake Police say a teen suffered a serious jaw injury during a fight early Friday morning.
Police say a 16-year-old suffered the injury during a fight that happened at 12:50 a.m. Friday at Awayis Park in Storm Lake.
Police say a 16-year-old male was visiting friends at Awaysis Park when several carloads of people confronted and assaulted them.
Police say after the fight the victim’s wallet was stolen and people entered a vehicle owned by a third party and stole items in excess of $800.
Around 3 a.m. Friday a 16-year-old male from Storm Lake was arrested on 3rd-degree Burglary, Rioting, and Disorderly Conduct.
He was taken to the Youth Detention Center in Cherokee pending a court date.
The victim was taken to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center before being transported to a Sioux City hospital for treatment.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are attempting to identify and locate others involved in the incident.
