(KTIV) – On Monday, Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts and First Lady Susanne Shore launched an initiative to recognize Nebraska’s flood heroes for their extraordinary acts of bravery in service of their communities.
Ricketts says he’s asking Nebraskans to share stories of selfless service and heroic deeds so they give official recognition to the men and women who put their families and communities first.
Flood Hero nominations are submitted online with honorees being recognized later this year.
Nominators or nominees must be a resident of the state, and nominations for oneself will not be honored.
