HINTON, Iowa (KTIV) — There is one Siouxland newcomer to this week’s Iowa high school baseball rankings. Hinton gets into the Class 2A list at number-10. The Blackhawks have won their first ten games of the season. They are just one of 12 undefeated teams left in the state.

Hinton has outscored their first ten opponents, 102-7. Seven of their ten wins have come by the ten-run rule. The Blackhawks are hitting .367 as a team, with seven players hitting .400 or better.

“They’re competitive. They challenge each other,” said Hinton head coach Cale Kramer. “They work hard together. They believe in each other and that’s kind of been the big thing. They put in a lot of work since January getting ready for this point and it’s starting to show.”

“We have five or six seniors that play and five or six seniors that are leaders on the team,” said senior Aiden Brock. “We have guys that have experience. We have guys that know how to play baseball and know how to play it right.”

“I think our biggest thing is just keeping the energy up,” said senior Blake Beller. “Focusing while we’re hitting before games and just the simple things like that.”

Hinton is also off to a 3-0 start in the War Eagle Conference.
