SIOUX CITY (KTIV) — Lincoln edged the Sioux City Explorers, 3-2, on Tuesday night at Mercy Field at Lewis and Clark Park. The Saltdogs scored the go-ahead run in the fourth inning on a solo home run from John Sansone. Lincoln improves to 14-11 with the win while the X’s fall to 9-16.

After the Saltdogs scored a run in the top of the first inning, Sioux City answered with a solo home run from Michael Lang. The veteran outfielder, who is already Sioux City’s all-time hits leader, became the 13th player in American Association history to reach that milestone.

Sebastian Zawada gave Sioux City a 2-1 lead with a solo home run in the third inning but it was the last run of the night for the home team. Tyler Jordan took the loss on the mound for the X’s, going 7 1/3 innings with five strikeouts.

Game three of the four-game series is Wednesday at 7:12 p.m. in Sioux City.
