Mapleton, IA man charged with sexually abusing minors set to be arraigned July 1

MONONA COUNTY, Iowa (KTIV) – A Mapleton, Iowa, man accused of sexually abusing a family member and other minors between 2006-2019, will be in a courtroom next month for his arraignment.

Thirty-eight-year-old Steve Kroll is charged on multiple counts, including three-degree sexual abuse, incest, pimping, and prostitution of a minor.

Kroll was arrested May 8 following an extensive investigation by authorities. He posted a cash bond on May 10.

Kroll will be arraigned at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 1 in Monona County District Court.

According to an affidavit, Kroll inappropriately touched a 13-year-old and a 12-year-old at his home on Dec. 31, 2006.

Between June 2008 and January 2009, police say Kroll fondled one of those victims on at least five separate occasions.

According to the affidavit, between June 16, 2016, and June 15, 2017, Kroll is accused of performing a sex act on a 13-year-old family member.

Between Nov. 1, 2018, and Jan. 1, 2019, Kroll is accused of having sex with a family member against her will.
