X’s continue hot streak with shutout in Cleburne

CLEBURNE, Texas (KTIV) — The Sioux City Explorers beat the Cleburne Railroaders, 4-0, on Sunday night for their fifth consecutive win. Sioux City moves into fourth place in the American Association’s South Division at 14-16.

Taylor Jordan pitched seven strong innings for the X’s, giving up four hits while striking out 12.

Shortstop Nate Samson broke a scoreless tie in the sixth inning with a solo home run. Drew Stankiewicz also came home on a wild pitch for 2-0 lead. Sioux City padded their lead in the seventh inning on a two-run home run from outfielder Kyle Wren.

The final game of the four-game series is Monday at 7:05. Sioux City continues their road trip on Tuesday, starting a three-game series in Kansas City, Kansas, against the T-Bones.
