Grilling up summer connections at Sioux City’s West High School

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) –  This summer Sioux City’s West High is grilling up connections!

Wednesday was the first of six grill outs for the West High community.

Each Wednesday during the summer students, families and community members come together for a free meal and conversation.

This is the third year for the event.

Organizers say it continues to grow each year.

“It’s a great way for us to meet families and then also for students to have a place to come together over the summer,” said April Tidwell, West High School Principal. “It’s just to keep that connection with school so we continue to see progress as the school year starts.”

Future Grill Outs will be held 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at:

  • June 26th Loess Hills Elementary
  • July 10th Perry Creek Elementary
  • July 17th Liberty Elementary
  • July 24th Riverside Elementary
  • July 31st West High School
